@Garry

Great release. Been using this for the past couple of years to offend my fundamentalist wacko co-workers who adorn their desks with every religious symbol imaginable. Just waiting for the attorney to make me change it.

@Mustafa Kemal Ataturk

Correction on your supposed Sabbatai Zevi post. The text you provide is actually a transliterated form of the original Hebrew Sh'ma and V'ahavta prayers found in Deuteronomy 6:4 regardless of which version you pick up. They are in the Aleppo Codex all the way through the King James version and beyond. They have nothing to do with Zevi as they were written down before 586 BCE.

Modern English translation:

Hear o Israel, the Lord thy God, the Lord is One.
Blessed be the name of his glorious kingdom forever.
And these words that I command you today shall be in your heart.
And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and you shall speak of them
when you sit at home, and when you walk along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.
And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.
And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Actually the translation is not Ancient English, (there is not such beast) and it is not Old English, anyway I doubt anyone except the very few could even read it if it was in Old English, (perhaps our friends in Iceland could though not very well),

This is not even in Middle English.

This is plain and simple Modern English. This translation was made famous by Dore's 1860 illustrated edition of Henry Francis Cary's 1814 translation.

Apolit was quite right when he says it sound snobbish, it was deliberately translated to read like this.

One of my more flippant Italian friends gives this rather terse modern translation for the last line

Regardless not a chance on it having anything to do with Old English. In what we call England in 1300 it would have been middle middle English. A bit earlier than Chaucer. Middle English is considered from 1066 - 1475. Old English is closer syntactically to German, and sorta looks like it as well.
