Many people, including us, are of the opinion that Unity is a big step back for Ubuntu. Gnome 3 isn’t much better. People are messing around, trying to make these work like good old Gnome 2, but, while we commend their efforts, it’s just not as good as the real thing. Maybe it will be one day, but until then, don’t struggle; just use Gnome 2!
