Necrophiliac Necromancer Released

Ubuntu Satanic Edition 666.10 (Necrophiliac Necromancer)

A new era has begun. Now on DVD and featuring all the music from the previous releases, that’s over 2 hours of pumelling, free heavy metal mayhem to make your neck ache and ears bleed. To make the most of the extra space we have included all of the usual Ubuntu apps and brought them together on our own darkened desktop.

Install onto Ubuntu Natty 11.04 using the instructions here.

Or download the Undead DVD ISO and give it a try without changing your computer here. If you like it, just use the icon on the desktop to install.

Actively using it on a _wide_ range of servers and desktops, this thing is the sh*t !!

May I suggest to base the next Satanic Edition on Linux Mint 12? There seems to be an exodus from Ubuntu to Mint due to the Unity issue. See the stats on distrowatch. The same thing happened in the past with Mandriva/KDE4.0. It almost killed off that distro.

  8. Garry Says:

Not a bad suggestion. However, now that we distribute the ISO as a DVD, space is less of a concern, so we may offer both Unity and GnomeShell and let the users make up their minds.

    hey there,
I’m a huge metal fan and would love to try out Ubuntu SE, though I’m a little skeptical to be installing a version based on 11.04 and not 11.10. When do you plan to release 666.11 based on 11.10? thanks so much!!!!

  10. Garry Says:

Due to the big changes between 11.04 and 11.10 (GTK3 mainly), we were quite behind releasing packages for Oneiric. Therefore, we may not get round to doing an 11.10 ISO. My advice for now is to either install SE 11.04, which gives you the option to upgrade to 11.10 or install the standard 11.10 Ubuntu and then install the SE themes on top.

  11. Knife Says:

Every time I try to download Ubuntu SE it keeps giving me a run around. As in “click this to download ubuntu satanic edition” and it redirects me to another site, which says “click to download ubuntu satanic edition” which takes me back to the PAGE I WAS JUST ON. HELP PLEASE.

  12. Garry Says:

    Hi,

One problem with torrent sites is that they never make the download links too obvious. Here is a direct link to the torrent.

The Demoniod page does provide the above link, but it’s a couple of pages down.
